VCode is visual identification technology, founded and developed in the United Kingdom.
The premise
VCode began from a different starting question. Not how do we put more data into a code? but how do we make a code that identifies one specific thing, and keeps the issuer in control of it afterwards?
That decision, a reference rather than a container, is what allows a code to be revoked, restricted, changed after printing, and recorded every time it is used.
The founder
VCode was founded by Louis-James Davis, who went on to found Confrmo, a runtime identity platform that uses VCode scanning as part of how it verifies that an authorised human is present.
Where it has been applied
The technology has been used across identity, health credentials, e-voting, ticketing, consumer engagement and product authentication.
The ecosystem
VCode is the identification layer beneath newer products built by the same founder. Confrmo addresses identity and trust at the moment of a risky action. Nova Wallet addresses the holding and transfer of digital assets. VCode is what lets a physical thing enter that picture at all.
